Sean Ferguson

Sean Ferguson is an artist, teacher and choreographer from Springfield, Ohio and holds a BFA in Dance Performance from Wright State University. While at WSU, he performed works by notable choreographers such as Elizabeth Ramsey, Stewart/Owen Dance and Kiki Lewis. Additionally, Sean was rehearsal assistant for Teressa McWilliams work “Exits”. His supplemental dance studies include Water Street Dance Festival in 2021.

Sean was a member of Dayton Contemporary’s Second Company, DCDC2 for the 21-22 season. During his tenure in DCDC2, he performed in mainstage performances “Exposure”, “Crossroads” and “In Freedom”. He performed as a guest artist with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company in Tally Beatty’s “Stack Up” in 2024. Sean was then promoted to a JB Fellow with DCDC for their 24-25 season performing in works by Countess Winfrey, Stafford Berry and Crystal Perkins. Sean performed alongside Dayton Ballet and Dayton Opera in their production of Aida choreographed by Crystal Perkins. He also had the honor of performing Sir Warren Spears “On The Wings Of Angels” for the NATO conference in 2025.

In 2025, Sean’s choreography was selected to be performed at Regional Dance Of America Dance Festival as an emerging choreographer. This will be his first season with Dayton Dance Initiative.
