In our fourth season, we returned to the name and venue that started it all. Our annual summer performance Making Moves presented 8 brand new works by returning and new choreographers. Their vision came to life on the PNC Arts Annex stage for 3 incredible performances.

After a 2 year hiatus from live performance, the DDI dancers and choreographers were thrilled to return to a live performance venue for our Dayton audience. 10 brand new works came together for an unforgettable performance.

After the success of our Moving Strong virtual performance, we decided to keep the momentum going with a continuing platform for our artists: with a virtual mini series! Moving Strong

“Like dancers, the people of Dayton bend without breaking. In the face of adversity, we grow stronger.”
The Dayton community faced many hardships surrounding the year 2020, but Dayton has continued to press onward with #DaytonStrong as our motto. Through Moving Strong, we hoped to inspire our community by using our art form to reflect our city’s resilience. 9 brand new dances took our virtual audience inside the dance studio as well as around Dayton as our choreographers brought their voices to life through movement and film.

Making moves
May 19, 2019 | PNC Arts Annex
Our inaugural performance, with two sold out shows at Dayton Live’s PNC Arts Annex. 19 dancers and choreographers took the stage in a new way, creating brand new works on local dancers collaborating for the first time.

The mix of movement and music was wholly entertaining and such a pleasant surprise. It was truly a breath of fresh air!
