Gibbons String Quartet
The Gibbons String Quartet is thrilled to collaborate with DDI for this exciting production! Members Kate Abramson (viola), Joel Thompson (cello), Jordan Millard (violin), and Samantha Grace (violin) first performed together for an event at the Cincinnati Zoo in 2022, where a shared fascination with gibbons and passion for creating musical connections led them to launch the Gibbons String Quartet. All four members have been active professionals in the Dayton arts community for many years, and are so excited to share their innovative approach to the string quartet experience as they explore a wide variety of repertoire. From classical and romantic quartet standards to pop, folk, and alternative genres, they seek to present a mix of familiar and fresh - inviting their audience to forge social bonds through music, as does their namesake, the gibbon.
