Meet Claire
Claire Mitchell was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. Her professional training began at age ten with Barbara Pontecorvo at Pontecorvo Ballet Studios. In 2015, she graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BFA in Ballet Performance. There she had the opportunity to dance in China with the Beijing Dance Academy. Claire is in her ninth season with Dayton Ballet, where she has enjoyed performing and choreographing for the company. She is returning to dance for Dayton Dance Initiative’s sixth season. Claire would like to thank her husband and daughter for their love and support.

What Inspires You? Why do you dance?:
A lot of things inspire me to dance. I love moving and expressing my body. I also love music and that inspires me to dance. My daughter is a huge inspiration that has influenced my love of dance.

The collaboration and Dayton!
